Proved that the effective configuration of corporate sector can’t be based on the same size of fi rms. Evolution of the structure of this sector is considered in a context of long waves of economic development. With reference to separate phases of a long wave it is discussed, what specific properties of business of the different sizes define its comparative advantages on these phases. Character of evolution of corporate sector is illustrated by the statistical data of the USA economy.
