- Abstract
- The article analyses key economic aspects of Brazilian energy security policy and in this context its opportunities for cooperation with other BRICS countries. All group members could be divided into two blocks as exporters and importers of energy resources. Therefore their rating sets the trend for the conducted national energy policy. However, at the same time ensuring of energy security in each country amounts to its strategic economic interest and allows to define common points for establishing mutual multilateral cooperation. Brief historical analysis of Brazilian energy policy and current status of its fuel and energy complex gives an opportunity to explain the existing structure of energy balance, expose main problem areas and challenges along with the most perspective areas of cooperation with other member countries on this basis
