Abstract
The article reviews the main theoretical approaches to the study of everyday life of professions and professional groups, implicit social interactions, informal relationships, and cultural practices that are usually hidden from the eyes of external observers. The study of these aspects leads to questions about the knowledge that is formed during the work of different group members, separated by status positions, but United by one business and a common world of everyday life. The article contains a brief classification of sociological views on professions, a description of the evolution of socio-anthropological approaches to the study of organizations and work in the XX century. It is shown that normative attributive interpretations of professionalism are common among Russian sociologists, but new trends are noted. Modern Russian studies of the profession are developing in the areas of phenomenology and social criticism, based on field Ethnography and socio-cultural analysis of symbolic forms of everyday life of professional groups and communities.
