Abstract
Republican D. Trump received about three million votes less in the general presidential elections in November 2016, than Democrat H. Clinton, but won a majority in the Electoral College, which is formed by voting in individual states and determines the outcome of the election. The historical gender gap was not sufficient for the victory of H. Clinton in the presidential race of 2016. The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, won, contrary to the expectations of many people. In general, the 2016 elections are marked by the highest level of diversity of the represented electorate in the US history: 31% of eligible voters are representatives of racial and ethnic minorities. The growing role of minority women has been observed in the current gender gap in support of democratic candidates. Evaluation of the role of women voters in the outcome of the last presidential election is an important part of the discussions after the race. After the official inauguration of 45 US President (January 21, 2017), thousands of American women marched in all parts of the country and abroad. The event was noted as the largest in public and political life in the United States, as well as outside the country. The demonstrators sought to convey to the new president D. Trump the message about the importance of women's rights and human rights in general. Demonstrators are in favor of racial and gender equality, accessible health care and the right to choose (abortion) - these are exactly the issues that are threatened during the reign of D. Trump. President Donald Trump refuses a number of victories of women, won by hard work under the Obama administration. January 21, 2018 in the United States marked the first anniversary of the "March of Women" by holding the next "March of Women - 2018". Practically throughout the year there was preparation for him. The campaign was conducted by women's NGOs with an eye to the autumn elections to the US legislature to win votes in support of a significant change in November 2018. Women in the United States gained sufficient leverage of power and influence in shaping their own destiny and the vector of the country's development. The women's movement in the United States performs the most important function in the political space of the country: it articulates new values in the structure of mass consciousness, filling a new political space whose need for coverage has not been realized in time. It is known that women can make changes in the election results.
